THE STRANGERS CAME TODAY

11+ performers

Welcome to The Strangers: A Support Group for Mystical Experiences.

Today, Matt, the comically-lost and well-meaning group leader, struggles to maintain control of the group suddenly swept up in – not just their own personal beliefs – but a burgeoning social and spiritual revolution. Meanwhile, the teachings of an Insta-famous “shaman” have somehow infiltrated the group-mind.

At a moment when we as a society are experiencing a potentially dangerous merging of spirituality and capitalism, and seeking something greater than our leaders (and ourselves) … THE STRANGERS CAME TODAY is a a profound and profoundly funny exploration of spiritual wellness in the 21st Century; a play that invites us to interrogate our own beliefs and skepticism.
